Kentucky was the first place that he started playing gigs in ‘90, Michigan in ‘95 and finally, back to Texas in ‘08.
The first band was blues then country, then classic rock and finally pop. He has a band in Texas now called the Chameleons and plays weekly. Keith has recorded several songs of various styles and continues to evolve musically.

Keith says, ” I’m torn between music and martial arts.” “Who doesn’t have too many irons in the fire ?” “No one I know”

Hot Emerging Artists- Faber Drive

FABER DRIVE

Faber Drive

Members:
Faber – guitar and lead vocals
Hinsley – lead guitar and backing vocals
Krikit – bass and backing vocal
Red Bull – drums and backing vocals

After beating out more than 500 other artists from across Canada to take first place in a radio competition, Faber Drive started opening for notable acts such as Nickelback, Simple Plan and Hedley.  With the release of their pop-punk infused debut album Seven Second Surgery, Faber Drive hit #1 on Much Music, saw 3 top 10 radio singles and was nominated for the Juno award for Best New Artist in 2008.

However, the Faber Drive that appears on its sophomore album can’T keEp A SecrEt is a band that has progressed beyond the Juno nominees of 2008. Where Seven Second Surgery laid the ground work for the Vancouver-based band’s career, can’T keEp A SecrEt now builds and evolves, deftly bringing bright colors, edgy tones, and more emotion into the fold and crossing the borders between Faber Drive’s punk rock roots into electro-pop mixed with epic balladry.

can’T keEp A SecrEt is a who’s who of the Vancouver music biz A-game, including Dave Genn (Matthew Good/Hedley/Marianas Trench), Dave “Rave” Ogilvie (Marilyn Manson/Nine Inch Nails), Brian Howes (Daughtry/Hinder/Hedley) and the insurgent likes of Josh Ramsay (Marianas Trench), Colin “Crocker” Friesen, and Jeff Johnson

Hot Emerging Artists- Luke Andrews

Luke Andrews

Luke Andrews

Picture, if you will, a head-on collision in the City of Los Angeles between a soulful vocalist, a blues guitarist , a groovy Bassist, and a rock drummer. With that vision, one can begin to imagine the sound of Acoustic Funk/Rock band, The Luke Andrews Accident (aka The LA Accident).

The LA Accident showcases the smooth, wide-range vocals of Luke Andrews with an edgy and funky band, which creates an irresistible fusion of funk, pop, and rock. With genuine musicianship and taste for melodic guitar riffs and solos, The Luke Andrews Accident is not just another pop/rock band. With meaningful lyrics, the band performs music that everyone can relate to. There are no “accidents”, things just fall into place..

In 2007, a music video for Luke’s song Back in Love was filmed during an episode of MTV’s NEXT. In 2008, The LA Accident made the Top 25 in KIIS FM’s BIG BREAK competion with the video to their song Work It Out. They have performed at clubs such as House of Blues, The Viper Room, and The Whisky A Go Go. They recently performed at the LA Marathon w/ the charity Childshare, City of Wildomar’s Birthday Celebration. They will be performing in the Final round of the Emergenza Festival in July. Hot Emerging Artist – Dream for Real

dream-for-real

When Catherine Kinsman, Joanna Butler and Melanie Donnelly met at a 2007 songwriter symposium in Halifax, they decided to combine their talents and soon adopted the name DREAM FOR REAL. In April 2009, the Great American Song Contest presented them with a finalist award for their first collaboration, a song called Stand Together. They performed this inspirational anthem of hope and unity, at the Obama Welcome Rally in honour of the U.S. President’s first visit to Canada and their “Stand Together For Service” was chosen as video of the week by www.Halgonia.ca  in honour of Martin Luther King Jr. Day .

Frequent advocates for important causes, DREAM FOR REAL has performed at such events as the IWK Hospital Telethon in Halifax, Race For The Cure in Nova Scotia and at Toronto City Hall in support of Step By Step’s international campaign for organ and tissue donation. At the heart of their multi-media project currently in development, is an uplifting song for the environment called We’ll Find A Way.

One of the hallmarks of this team is their ability to laugh – often at themselves!  “I’m Addicted to CNN” is a lighthearted look at how engrossed they had become in the historic 2008 political scene.

DREAM FOR REAL believes in the power of dreams acted upon and cherish the privilege of contributing music toward making a difference in the world!

Immersed in their strong Canadian roots, and unwavering in controlling their own destiny, raynesShade Stone and Cliff McPherson of the Raynes are a true David and Goliath story in the making. Unwilling to compromise direction, creativity and musical integrity for the occasional ‘dangling carrot’’, this self-produced, self-promoted and self-managed duo have sculpted their own success both locally and nationally. The name “Raynes”, though creatively misspelled, is empowering in itself and evokes a call to freedom and independence.

raynes2Conceived in early 2006, the idea of combining memorable melodies with mature lyrics resulted in their debut album ’silver baby … golden dream’. Not just a title, but a message affirming that age is not a prerequisite to pursuing one’s passion. In an album charged with inspiring messages of love as well as life’s disappointments, its accomplishments have even surpassed the expectations of both its creators.

Emerging Artist – Tim Louis

Tim Louis

tim-louis

With his relaxing touch on the piano and natural vocal delivery, Tim Louis has a timeless quality to his music that is both comforting and refreshing at the same time. The tunes Tim writes are undeniably infectious: jazz in its simplicity.

Having played piano since he was five, Tim earned a BA in Music at Rutgers University in NJ, studying under jazz great Kenny Barron.
A real self-assurance and maturity is displayed in his upcoming debut album ‘Til it be Tomorrow. “I wrote all the songs for the album by sitting at my piano with music staff paper and a pencil.

The songs had to work at that level. My goal was to capture the basic elements of creative lyrics and catchy melodies.” Choosing that style of music should come as no surprise for a musician born and raised just outside of Hoboken, New Jersey, the birthplace of Frank Sinatra.
It didn’t, however, happen right away. “Growing up, my grandmother always told to ‘learn the standards’ so I did what any teen would do, I joined a rock band.” Moving from Jersey to Canada for personal reasons (read: a girl), Tim settled down in Kitchener, Ontario just long enough to get right back on the road.

This time it was country music – writing and touring for Lace and Jason McCoy among others. Tim earned nominations for Country Music Association Keyboard Player of the Year for three years and a SOCAN award for his Jamie Warren tune, “Sunny Day in the Park.” “I took all of the experience I had gained to pull back and do my own thing.” His own thing is ‘Til it be Tomorrow, a collection of eleven self-penned tunes.
These imaginative originals showcase Tim’s songwriting acumen in the traditional side of jazz with shades of melodic pop. With an upcoming tour to support the album, Tim is looking forward to getting back on the road, this time on his own terms.

“Being able to reach people emotionally by playing and singing is a great connection I want to make night after night.” Tim’s music, piano playing, and voice are sure to appeal to both jazz enthusiasts and those for whom jazz is just a nice accompaniment to life.
