First of all, to all our American friends- Happy Thanksgiving…you guys rock !
Adam Lambert sure rocked the American Music Awards Sunday night… rocked the boat !
Lots of buzz still about his racy, raunchy and sexually-charged performance of his new song ” For Your Entertainment” where he fondled a dancer, led another around on a leash, had a dancer briefly stick his head in his crotch (simulating oral sex) and did the male lip on liplock thing with the keyboard player who he said is straight.
Glambert’s now whining about why he should apologize after ABC received 1,500 complaints about his behaviour and defends what he did, saying when female singers do the crotch grab thing (Janet Jackson did it in her opening number,) or when women kiss (Madonna and Britney Spears -2003 MTV Video Music Awards) no one flinches.
He does and he doesn’t have some good points.
Let’s not forget about the Janet Jackson boob flash during the Halftime show during the Super Bowl in 2004…people talked about that for years…and…Regis and Kelly’s producers wouldn’t book her for their morning gig 3 months after cuz they were afraid to expose their audience to risky behaviour.
First of all, Lambert went far more over the top than Madonna-Britney and Jackson.
I thought both those incidents were 3 blinks past stupid…dumbass and just plain WTF moments.
I think it’s sad when musicians resort to shock performances like this cuz really, it takes away from their real talent.
If they want to incorporate it into their own shows-fine but to get tongues wagging (aside from inside each other’s mouths) it’s just pathetic.
Lambert pissed off ABC cuz he did what wasn’t rehearsed and he blind-sided them.
They had every right to be concerned about him going over the top for Good Morning America when they cancelled his interview… sure, CBS went with him but they had nothing to lose and everything to gain cuz chances of him doing something as stupid as what he did Sunday night were minimal.
The oral sex simulation must have had ABC producers changing their pants, wondering if he’d do that in their morning TV programming.
He’s right about the female kissing thing but he just went too far and has to man up and take his lumps.
It’s just pathetic that he’s making his grand entrance into the music biz by being so controversial but I’m sure his record company and publicists are lovin’ the millions of dollars of free publicity and promotion for his debut album.
He’s talented and has great potential but if he continues to act like this, he’s going to hit the wall very quickly.
Hey, Lady Gaga, whom I expected to be outlandish was weird and well behaved.
Far as I’m concerned, Glambert needs to take lessons from Gaga and learn how to really sell records !
